Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach out to us at (616)-219-0065 if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Enjoy Boat Rentals is open daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, starting Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Rentals are priced hourly with a three hour minimum, giving you flexibility while still ensuring enough time to enjoy the water. All rentals take place within our operating hours, and availability depends on the selected boat and date.

We can also offer multi-day rentals upon request. For information about extended rental options, please contact us directly.

Renters must be at least 25 years old, have prior boating experience, and provide a valid credit card at the time of booking.

To operate a boat on Lake Michigan, you are required to have a NASBLA-approved boating safety certificate. Our boats are GPS-tracked, and entering Lake Michigan without the proper certification will result in forfeiture of your full deposit and may lead to additional penalties or legal action.

No. For safety and liability reasons, outside tubes and towable equipment are not permitted. Only water sports equipment approved by Enjoy Boat Rentals may be used during your rental. Approved tubes are available as an add-on.

When you book online, payment is made in full at the time of reservation. This covers the entire cost of your rental. You will only be charged separately for the fuel you use, which is measured at the end of your rental period. Bookings are only confirmed once full payment is received.

We also offer a few add-ons such as ice and 2-person inflatable tubes that can be added to you cart upon checkout.

Enjoy Boat Rentals operates from Coastal Zone Marina, located at 1719 Pennoyer Ave., Grand Haven, MI. We offer dedicated customer parking and convenient access to local waterways.

From our marina, you can explore Spring Lake and the Grand River. Access to Lake Michigan is also allowed, provided that weather conditions are safe (no Small Craft Advisory in effect) and the operator holds a valid NASBLA-approved boating safety certificate.

It is required that you bring a valid photo ID and credit card for check-in. If you plan to operate on Lake Michigan, a NASBLA-approved boater safety certificate is required. You’ll also want to bring essentials like towels, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and appropriate clothing for the weather. Feel free to pack snacks and drinks (coolers are welcome, but please avoid glass containers). If you plan to swim or enjoy water sports, don’t forget your swimwear and an extra change of clothes.

While we provide loaner life jackets, availability in all sizes isn’t guaranteed, and bringing properly fitted life jackets for young children is recommended. You’re also welcome to bring your own fishing gear, but please note that cleaning fish on the boat is not allowed.

We ask that you arrive about 15 minutes early to allow time for check-in and a smooth departure. If you arrive late, your rental time will not be adjusted, and the boat must still be returned at the originally scheduled time.

If the boat is returned late, a $25 late fee will be charged for every 15 minutes past the return time. This policy helps us stay on schedule for the rest of the day and provide a great experience for all guests.

Check-in and check-out take place at Coastal Zone Marina in Grand Haven, MI. You can plan to park right at the marina in our designated customer parking area.

Please allow about 15 minutes at both the start and end of your rental for a quick check-in and check-out process. At the beginning, we’ll walk you through safety procedures, go over boat operations, and answer any questions. At the end, we’ll help tie up the boat, inspect for any damage, and measure fuel usage.

For a smoother experience, we recommend having everyone in your group complete their waivers before arriving.

If the weather on the day of your rental is unsafe for boating, such as during storms, high winds, or when a small craft advisory is in effect, you will be allowed to reschedule your rental for a future date with availability at no additional cost. (Must be within that calendar year).

When a small craft advisory is in place, boats are not allowed on Lake Michigan, but Spring Lake and the Grand River remain open and available for use.

If you choose to go out on a day when poor weather is in the forecast, that is at your own risk. Once the boat leaves the dock, the rental is considered final and you will not be eligible to reschedule or receive a refund.

Each boat goes out with a full tank of fuel. You will be charged for the exact fuel you use during your rental, plus an additional $10 refueling service fee. When you return, our team will measure how much fuel was burned and charge the cost to a card.

If you prefer to refuel the boat yourself to avoid the $10 fee, you may do so, but you must provide a same-day fuel receipt showing a full fill-up when you return.

Yes. Prior boating experience is required to rent from Enjoy Boat Rentals. While our team provides a full walkthrough of boat operations and safety procedures before departure, renters must already be familiar with basic boating skills such as handling, docking, and navigation. Our staff are not permitted to accompany renters during operation.

Our boats can accommodate between 8 and 12 passengers, depending on the model. Each listing on our website includes the maximum capacity for that vessel. If you’re unsure which boat may be the best fit for your group, feel free to contact our team and we’ll be happy to help you choose the right one!

Alcohol is permitted for passengers of legal drinking age, but the boat operator must remain sober at all times. Impaired operation is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate termination of the rental without refund. Please drink responsibly and help keep everyone safe on the water.

Each boat is inspected before and after every rental. Renters are responsible for any damage that occurs during their rental period. If damage is found upon return, repair or replacement costs will be assessed and charged accordingly. Our team takes time to review basic safety and operating procedures before departure to help ensure a safe experience for everyone.

Yes, we offer a 10% discount for military members, first responders, and teachers. To receive this discount, give us a call before booking and we’ll provide you with a custom discount code to use at checkout.

We also run frequent discount campaigns and seasonal promotions on our social media pages. Make sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook to stay updated on the latest offers!
